Hey guys,

today one of our 2010 C2's had a coolant hose blow-out. Two weeks ago we had another 2010 model have the same little hose blow-out. This is on the Cummins models

The (roughly 3-4 inch long)3/4" hose basically just bursts as you are driving it, and drains most or all of your coolant out. Both these buses have about 90,000 KMS (56,000 miles) on them, so just a word of warning on them.

The hose is near the back of the engine on the passenger/door side. It is located directly underneath where there is what looks like a glow plug relay up on the firewall. The hose basically just adds flexibility to two metal coolant tubes around the EGR.

Today our mechanic repaired this with a piece of the blue "hi-miler" hose.

Has anybody else had an issue with these hoses bursting?

Chec your coolant resivoir cap to see what pressure it is most of the early ones had 19# caps install a 16# cap and most problems will go away.

Thanks for the tip! I was looking at one of our 2011 C2's and the coolant cap is rated at 20lbs. I mentioned what you have said to our head mechanic at the shop.

He called another school district near by and asked them if they had any of these problem with any of their 2010's, but they had never run into it as of yet.

The strange thing about the hose is that it looks almost like it had been deteriorated from the inside out before it burst.
