I am seeing a lot of green corrosion on battery cabels and electerical connections on late model buses . even faraway from the battery dose anyone know why and a good cleaner to use that dose not require disassembling and using a wire brush.I have not found one that will remove all visibele corrosion from copper terminals.

Use very hot water. It will clean it, I do the pressure hot water (steam cleaner) on batteries during each summer as preventive maint.

Even on our support vehicle, I just get hot water from the tap to clean it. If you can remove air from getting to terminals it will slow down the corrosion problem. Use dilectric grease or some kind of battery terminal protector.

Hope this helps.

My grandfather who is a mechanic lives by the coca cola rule. Pour a little bit of it on the area and consider the problem gone.

After you clean them, a good coat of either a terminal protector or dielectric grease will reduce the reoccurrence of corrosion. Makes a big difference.

Larger cables & Ground post terminals usually require a bit of manual cleaning. The one cleaner that we use to take off the green & the chalk from terminals is DRI by State Chemical.

Then terminal coat or dielectric grease as needed.

I may not know the answer but I can usually find who does.

Baking soda and hot water, seal with your favorite sealer or paint.
