On many Ward buses, I remember seeing a switch with this (ACT LGT) labeling. I'm assuming it was for the strobe light, as these buses had them, but why would they label it like that? Perhaps it stood for "Actuator" or "Action" light, or something. Anyone know what the "ACT" part stood for?

I would assume an ACT LGT switch would stand for "activity light" and be for a seperate dome light in the rear of the bus. These lights were used for monitoring the action in the rear of the bus on night time activity trips.

Operating; Seven T444Es, One MaxxForce 7, One VT365, Four DT466s, One E-450 6.0 and one Mercedes in a C2.

I found a pic of one. I guess it is for the rear domes, as there is a strobe light switch on the panel.
