We only have one partial day left in the school year. It looks like it is going to be a long and trying summer.
"Budget cuts" and "shoe string budgets" will be terms that will be on everyone's minds. I think if there is one thing that I have learned in the years as the "bus man" here at my school is that practically 99% of a school bus is saftey. Budget cuts or not they need the attention that we give them. Keep that in mind.
Even though we have those cuts don't give into "we don't have the funds" statment when it comes to saftey!! It is our job not only to repair these machines and make them safe, but also to point out to the powers that be where there could be a potental problem caused by a well meaning policy.
I want to take this oportunity to thank everyone here for the pointers and support. I just stumbled onto this forum a few months ago but feel as if I have been part of the group since.
I will be, as most of you, very busy this summer. So if I don't get on here as often don't think I am avoiding you guys.
HAVE A GREAT AND PROSPEROUS SUMMER!!!! |

Wish we were about done Bwest, 9th of June here and it can't come fast enough! I'm burned out of this year and hope to get some fishing done and working on my Chevelle this summer. I'm going to be doing a lot of resto work on my older units. Looks like lots of paint going to be sprayed...

| Don't worry Tbus24, I have this 200,000 paint booth with TV, Satalite radio, couple of chairs and...a "Beverage dispenser" in it.. and the best part, Flowers come shooting out the exhaust vent!! |

Our last day is June 26. We don't go back till after Labor Day which is the 7th of September this year.
So next year they are eliminating mid-winter break. The time off would have been nice but what are you going to do in the middle of February if you aren't a teacher who makes 3 times what we drivers do? They can go on ski trips. We watch HGTV and wish it would quit snowing. |

Try starting back in early August. A lot of districts in KY do this and still are not getting out until late May or early June due to the bad winter we had. |
