Jan 24 2008 NBC 11 Bay Area Bay City News FREMONT, Calif. -- A 16-year-old boy accused of resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer in Fremont was arrested Tuesday after causing a commotion on a school bus, Sgt. Chris Mazzone said Wednesday.
Fremont police received a call reporting a fight on a school bus in the area of Omar Street and Blacow Road at about 1:40 p.m., Mazzone said.
A 16-year-old boy was taken off the bus after it was determined he was being disruptive, and a police officer began to search him for weapons, Mazzone said.
The boy walked away from the officer, at which point the officer reached out to keep the boy from leaving, Mazzone said. The boy allegedly became belligerent and struck the officer with his right elbow before running away with the officer reportedly chasing after him.
Mazzone said the boy stopped running, spun around as if ready to fight, and the officer tried to subdue the boy using a Taser gun.
The officer was able to take the boy to the ground and arrest him, Mazzone said.

Good for the police officer. Taze the little b@$+@rd.
First he was in a fight on the bus, then he was in a fight with a police officer. The kid is lucky that when he turned around the officer HAD the tazer out and not his gun. It's just stupid to confront a cop. If my daughter were to do what this child did I'd hope that the officer tazed her and didn't end up having to fight/shoot her. |

| See. It's not always bad news on this forum. The police did what was proper, I feel. Now you'll have a bunch of bleeding hearts lamenting the boy being tazed, but that's far better than the police splitting his head open with a billy stick. |

To the bleeding hearts I share this that I've learned: There is a sure-fire way to avoid being hit, shocked or shot by a police officer...DO WHAT THEY TELL YOU!
I want to shake this officer's hand. |
