IN THE STATE OF CALIF I AM HEARING THAT THE CHP IS GOING TO ENFORCE THE LAW THAT REQUIRES ANYBODY TRANSPORTING MORE THAN 10 PASSENGERS TO A SCHOOL SPONSORED FUNCTION HAVE A SPAB CERTIFICATE ALONG WITH THE CLASS B AND P ENDORSEMENT. ALL OF MY CLASS B DRIVERS HAVE THEIR CLASS B AND P ENDORSEMENT. PLUS THE LIMO COMPANIES HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE SCHOOLS DIRECTLY TO RENT FOR SCHOOL FUNCTIONS,(PROM). PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS ISSUE, THANK YOU,BOB |

Could make the passenger limit 10 per Limo. Haven't heard of any Limo crashes killing schoolchildren - has that happened in your state? If so, what are the statistics? (jk)
Did find this:
A joint study released by the Insurance Institute of America and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, reported that teen drivers have the highest crash risk of any group. According to statistics for 1999, "Per mile traveled, they (teen drivers) have the highest involvement rates in all types of crashes, from those involving only property damage to those that are fatal. Almost 80 percent of the fatal crashes reported in the 16-19 age category involve driver error. This is almost 20 percent more than fatal crashes in the 20-49 year old category.
"A trained professional chauffeur is infinitely safer than an inexperienced teen driver. National Limousine Association member companies have made a demonstrated commitment to safety."
