04/20/2006 - San Antonio Express, TX - A father is outraged after his 4-year-old son spent nearly 2 1/2 hours trapped on an empty school bus in 90-degree heat. Northside ISD officials say they have not made a decision yet regarding the two employees onboard the bus who were supposed to check for children at the end of a route.
-------------------------------------------------- What the heck is going on here? This is just uncalled for.
I worked for Laidlaw as my first employer, (4+ years with Laidlaw) and I'm starting to think that I was trained the right way. It was drilled in my head- Never leave a child on your bus unattended or you are not qualified for this job (in so many words) [it's part of our job]. I have that and will always have that in my head.
1. Always check your bus before your leave it.
I don't understand how this child was left in that school bus. How warm it gets in a bus in 90 degree weather. I believe termination should be the only outcome. This is happening more and more.
