October 21, 2005 - WCSH 6 - POLAND, Maine (AP) -- Police told the Sun Journal of Lewiston that Ira "Ike" Levine was charged in June after passing a school bus that was stopped and dropping off students in the Poland Regional High School parking lot. Levine was dropping off his own children at the time.

Levine is the chairman for the Poland School Committee and the Poland Regional High School Committee.

School transportation officials say that drivers often pass stopped school buses at the high school. Bus drivers record license plates and forward them to the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department for investigation.

If convicted, Levine faces a minimum 250-dollar fine, a 30-day license suspension and up to six months in jail.

I wonder if the ticket will get paid. The school boards and administration on Long Island,New York would have got that ticket squashed.I would love to be updated on this story.
