Thank you for the PA 8 light info. I wonder if PA was the first state to go to the 8 light warning system. PA-1971, OH-1978 and VA-1988.

New York also has required the 8 light system for a very long time, my best estimate would be from 1971-1974 or so from when it became law. I believe NY was the first state to require side pushouts (1960s), side emergency doors on all buses (early 70s), roof hatches (early 80s), high back seats (70s), increased seat padding (1986), and lap belts (1986).
