ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Alexandria City Public Schools has selected Accelify LLC to provide software products and services to manage the district's Medicaid claiming program.

The contract was awarded as part of a competitive RFP process initiated by the Alexandria City School Board.

"These are difficult financial times for school districts, and they must optimize every revenue opportunity that is available to them,” Accelify CEO Alex Brecher said. “We look forward to helping Alexandria realize the same increases in Medicaid reimbursements that our other Virginia clients and school districts across the nation have seen, as well as the many additional benefits our special-education management systems provide, including enhanced IDEA/IEP compliance and provider performance maximization tools."

Officials said that Accelify's suite of systems manage the entire continuum of care for special-education students, from the referral process and IEP (individualized education program) creation to service delivery and Medicaid billing, providing insight into district operations to enhance special-education processes and provide critical data to inform better decision-making.

The Alexandria contract includes several of Accelify's web-based data management systems, including AcceliTRACK, AcceliCLAIM, AcceliROUTE and AccelPCS.

AcceliROUTE simplifies student transportation management and billing, according to the company. The system provides options to build or import bus routes from third-party routing systems, and provides multiple options for data capture, both electronic and manual.

When integrated with AcceliCLAIM, the system automatically matches transportation services to billable direct health services to produce valid transportation Medicaid claims. Company officials said that these systems reduce staff effort while increasing transportation claiming.
