CINCINNATI — First Student Inc. has been awarded a new five-year contract to provide special-education school bus transportation to William Floyd Union Free School District in Mastic Beach, N.Y. 

The contract will begin on July 1 and will include a fleet of 48 new small buses. First Student has served the district for many years and will continue to provide general-education transportation services with a fleet of 155 buses. 

First Student said that it has extensive experience in serving school districts’ needs for special-education transportation services. The contractor conducts numerous special-needs driver education programs that incorporate video presentations, driver manuals, workshops and on-the-job training.
