REDONDO BEACH, Calif. — A power pole fell on a school bus carrying students with special needs last week. None of the eight passengers on board were injured and the small bus sustained only minor damages.

According to a report in the Daily Breeze, officials say a rearview mirror on the bus may have snagged a support wire for the pole, causing it to break off and fall on the vehicle's roof. The crash caused a brief power outage in the area.

The children, who attend a school for orthopedically disabled students, were evacuated from the bus and taken inside a nearby middle school, where they were evaluated and released.
