TULSA, Okla. — An SUV collided head-on with a school bus here on Monday morning and was caught on the bus’ security camera, CBS News reports.

The CBS News affiliate here obtained the video with an open records request.

The bus was traveling to McClain Junior High School with 37 students, according to the news source. The video shows the sport utility vehicle clipping a white car and then speed toward the school bus without swerving or braking. Police told CBS News eight of the students aboard the bus complained of bumps and bruises, and that the bus driver did a good job of making sure all the students on board were OK and getting them to stay in their seats.

Police told the news source they estimate that the driver of the vehicle was traveling 20 miles over the speed limit on that stretch of road, at about 60 miles per hour. They added that the 40-year-old driver recently had seizures, so they are trying to determine whether he had one during the incident, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The driver who hit the bus wasn't seriously injured because his airbags deployed, CBS News reports.
