NAMPA, Idaho — A 7-year-old boy was critically injured and hospitalized after a school bus struck him while he walked to school on Tuesday, Idaho Statesman reports.

Police told the newspaper that Connor Wright, a student at Centennial Elementary School, was hit in an unmarked crosswalk while he was walking with his older brother.

Wright remained in the pediatric intensive care unit of a Salt Lake City hospital as of Wednesday as police continue to investigate the incident, according to Idaho Statesman. A Go Fund Me page for the Wright family says that Wright suffered a fractured skull, several broken bones, a ruptured spleen, bruised kidneys and is in a coma.

A decision has not been made on whether charges will be filed against the school bus driver, who has not been named publicly, the newspaper reports. She is on leave pending the investigation results.
