KARNES COUNTY, Texas — Tracey Honig recently took video with her iPad of an 18-wheeler illegally passing her daughter’s school bus one morning while they were waiting to cross the street so her daughter could board the bus, KSAT reports.

That morning, a deputy who was parked behind the school bus pulled the driver over, Karnes County Sheriff Dwayne Villanueva told the news outlet. Villanueva added that soon after the new school year began, deputies have been following school buses to catch violators.

Additionally, Villanueva told KSAT he met with safety managers from the area's growing fracking industry, urging them to speak to their drivers about obeying school bus safety laws. He also said that American Traffic Solutions has offered to install stop-arm cameras to catch the license plates of cars that illegally pass the buses.

Honig told the news outlet that the video she posted on her Facebook page, shown below, has received thousands of views.
