BATON ROUGE, La. — A 12-year-old student faces multiple charges after he allegedly fired a gun at his school bus on Friday.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the suspect had an altercation with another student on the bus on Friday afternoon. Police said that when the 12-year-old got off of the bus, he ran into his home, grabbed a handgun and fired three shots, striking the bus all three times.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Police began a search for the suspect, who had fled the scene. He was found about two hours later.

The 12-year-old was arrested and booked into juvenile detention on charges of attempted first degree murder (six counts), illegal use of a weapon, aggravated criminal damage to property and juvenile in possession of a handgun.
