WINNSBORO, La. — Authorities say that a Franklin Parish Schools bus driver was arrested on Friday and charged with driving under suspension after she crashed her bus into another vehicle, The Franklin Sun reports.

The Louisiana State Police responded to the incident at about 6:40 a.m. Janice Norris backed her school bus into a Jeep Compass. There were approximately 30 students on the bus at the time, but EMS personnel examined them and no injuries were reported.

According to police, Norris’ driver’s license was suspended for non-payment of traffic tickets issued from out of state. She was arrested and transported to a detention center following the accident, where she was also charged with improper backing. Franklin Parish Schools Superintendent Dr. Lanny Johnson told The Franklin Sun that the district is not notified when a bus driver’s license is suspended.
