LEE COUNTY, Fla. — WINK News reports that it obtained video from Lee County Transit (LeeTran) that shows one of its buses illegally passing a school bus that had its lights flashing and stop arm out.

Joann Haley, a spokesperson for LeeTran, told the news outlet that the transit agency reviewed the video with the driver, and that he thought the school bus driver had waved to him to indicate that it was safe for him to proceed, and he did wait until all the children were on board the school bus and the door was closed before he moved his transit bus.

Haley added that the driver may have moved ahead too early and “that's something we'll continue to stress” in training. She would not disclose whether the driver faced disciplinary action.

Robert Morgan, executive director of transportation services for the School District of Lee County, said this incident is the first his district has seen with a LeeTran bus.
