SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Police cited the driver of a logging truck for making an improper turn after a school bus was impaled by a log Wednesday, The Post and Courier reports.
James Roberts, the truck driver, said he didn’t realize anything had happened until he arrived at the mill and discovered part of the log and a flag were missing. The Berkeley County School District bus was reportedly struck by the log as Roberts made a left turn.
Everyone on the school bus — which included a driver’s assistant and three Head Start students — was taken to the hospital to be checked for possible injuries. No one was hurt, officials said.
