HAMPTON, Ga. — A man is facing charges after police said he admitted to making false reports about a sniper targeting school buses in the area, according to a story on wsbtv.com.

The charges stem from an incident in May. Codarrius Rayshun Brewer claimed that he ran after a person who was pointing a gun at school buses, and he identified a bullet hole in a fence, which he said came from the sniper shooting at him.

Police said over the weekend that Brewer has since admitted to detectives that he was fabricating the story, and he also staged the entire scene to make it look real. Brewer was arrested on Saturday, but he is out of jail on a $5,900 bond. The charges against him include making a false report and obstruction.
