ROCKFORD, Ill. — A District 205 school bus driver was honored at a school board meeting on Tuesday for her actions during a tornado-related bus accident last month.

Virginia Rezazedah was named employee of the month for keeping the children on her bus calm after the vehicle was blown off the road and flipped by a tornado, WREX reports.  The tornado hit eastern Winnebago County and western Boone County.

As SBF previously reported, several students were injured during the accident. Michael Wood, 9, suffered a cracked vertebra, which was the most serious of the injuries.
