ALBANY, N.Y. — The National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) is calling on members to submit nominations for the NAPT Heroism Award.

The award, sponsored by Blue Bird, is presented each year at the NAPT Summit to an individual who has performed a selfless act of courage.

For a person to be considered as a recipient, the life-saving act must be performed by a pupil transportation professional or the action must directly affect a pupil transportation program.

Moreover, the Heroism Award committee will consider whether there was a threat to the individual’s life, the number of lives saved and the impact of the person’s actions on the pupil transportation industry.

An application must be submitted by an NAPT member, endorsed by two colleagues and sent to the NAPT headquarters by Sept. 1.
