RICHMOND, Va. — An 18-year-old man was arrested in the armed robbery of four students at their bus stop on Friday.

Travon Williams, who lives about eight blocks from the scene of the crime, surrendered to Richmond police on Monday. He was charged with multiple counts of robbery, attempted robbery and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Police said the incident occurred at 6:45 a.m. on Friday as the high school students, three male and one female, waited to catch their school bus.

The robber, holding a handgun and wearing a black skullcap and bandanna to cover his head and face, ordered the students to go through their pockets. They showed him that they had no money, but he reportedly grabbed a gold chain from one of them and took off.

No one was injured during the incident.
