WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bill Arrington, general manager of the Highway and Motor Carrier (HMC) division of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), invited transportation officials to register for upcoming regional security workshops.

The workshops will discuss highway transportation security issues with representatives from the trucking, motorcoach, school transportation and infrastructure industries.

TSA’s HMC Regional Security Workshop in Nashville, Tenn., will be held Sept. 4-5. Registration is currently open at www.tsa.gov/highway.

The program will also be held in Reno, Nev., Sept. 25-26.

During the workshop, TSA will provide a general highway threat briefing and a broad overview of the security components for highway transportation, including topics such as vulnerability assessments, security planning, training, exercises, regulations, doing business with the Department of Homeland Security and access to security information and notifications.
