A request for proposal (RFP) has been released to find a new location for the National Congress on School Transportation (NCST).

As reported earlier this month, NCST will move to a new site next year after more than three decades in Warrensburg, Missouri.

NCST, which was launched in 1939, meets every five years to deliberate on proposed updates to the industry manual National School Transportation Specifications and Procedures.

In selecting a new site, congress officials said that preference will be given to places that are located centrally in the U.S., are accessible by major airlines, and can offer reasonable costs for delegates (who serve in the NCST as volunteers), among other factors.

Responses to the RFP are due by the close of business on Dec. 5. The RFP can be accessed here.

The NCST steering committee plans to evaluate the responses and decide on a new location on or before Dec. 12. Information on the new host site and registration for NCST is expected to be sent to state delegation chairs by the end of December.
