MACON, Ga. — Blue Bird’s dealer in Georgia, Yancey Bus Sales and Service, has opened a new location in Middle Georgia.

The 25,000-square-foot facility in Macon is housed on more than 5 acres.

“We have expanded our facility to accommodate more buses, in an effort to offer better service and selection,” said Mark Terry, general manager of Yancey Bus Sales and Service. “We are also able to house more parts in-house in order to quickly service our customers’ needs.”

The increased size of the facility has enabled Yancey to expand its employee base and its field service technician team, who can meet customers and offer on-site service. Company officials said that this is particularly convenient for customers who live in rural areas.

“We currently have four field service technicians at this location, who take calls from Forsyth all the way down to Savannah,” Terry says. “Currently, we have 19 field service technicians state-wide, and we plan to expand this workforce over time.”

The new Yancey location is at 703 Joe Tamplin Blvd. in Macon. It is now open for business.

Macon is close to Fort Valley, home of Blue Bird’s headquarters.

“With Blue Bird’s manufacturing plant located in Middle Georgia, we’re very pleased to see the positive growth that our local dealer is experiencing,” said Jeff Carpenter, Blue Bird’s vice president of North American bus sales. “We are sure to see more growth in the state of Georgia and an even better service experience due to Yancey’s efforts.”
