TUPELO, Miss. — Summit Holdings has completed the acquisition of Truck Center Inc., a commercial truck and IC Bus dealership.

Truck Center has two locations: one in Tupelo, and one in Pontotoc, Mississippi.

Summit Holdings is a holding company formed by the merger of Diamond Companies and Roberts Truck Center dealerships last year.

With the addition of Truck Center, Summit now operates 31 locations in eight states: Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

“This is the first acquisition for Summit Holdings, and it is part of our long-term growth strategy,” CEO Blair Roberts said. “Truck Center Inc. is a well-respected organization in both the commercial truck industry and the Tupelo and Pontotoc communities. … We welcome the 55 employees of Truck Center Inc. into the Summit family.”

Truck Center represents International, IC Bus, Ford commercial vehicles, and Idealease lease and rental services.

As locations of Summit Truck Group, the Tupelo and Pontotoc locations will do business as Summit Truck Group of Tupelo. Glynn Franklin, former chief financial officer of Truck Center Inc., will serve as the general manager for the two Mississippi locations.

“I have always been extremely proud of our employees’ professionalism, expertise and superb concern for our customers,” said Chuck Imbler Sr., Truck Center Inc.’s founder. “I’m happy about this transition — Summit has a strong reputation in the industry, and I know they will provide growth opportunities for our dedicated employees and continue to provide excellent service to our customers.”
