The Indiana State School Bus Drivers Association has awarded a $500 scholarship to Corbin Sollman, son of association member Nikki Sollman.

The association gives out a scholarship each year to the child or grandchild of a member.

Sollman, a senior at Gibson Southern High School in Fort Branch, Ind., is ranked in the top 10% of his class. He has received numerous awards during his high school career, including honors for public speaking and academic excellence.

Sollman's extracurricular activities and community service include FFA, in which he served as chapter treasurer, and assisting with the building of a wheelchair ramp for a disabled person. He has served as an acolyte and is a confirmed member at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He is also a member of the Beta Club, an honor society for students with high academic achievements and leadership talents.

Sollman plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville to study engineering.
