A Zonar-sponsored webinar next week will discuss school transportation participation in crisis management and ways to prepare for the unthinkable.

The free webinar, to be held Thursday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. PST, will feature the former superintendent of Aurora (Colo.) Public Schools, John Barry. The title is “Crisis Management: Case Study on the Aurora Shooting.”

Attendees will learn how Aurora Public Schools’ transportation department assisted in the recovery efforts after the July 2012 movie theater shooting and how to develop a command and control system with incident response teams. The webinar will also address ways that school district transportation participation can be utilized in crisis situations.

Barry served as superintendent of Aurora Public Schools for seven years and was recognized as one of the top 10 “Tech Savvy Superintendents” in the nation by eSchool News in 2008. He is founder and CEO of VISTA Quest LLC, a full-spectrum senior consulting and professional service firm consisting of award-winning superintendents from around the nation.

The webinar is sponsored by Zonar, a leading provider of pupil transportation telematics, including verified electronic vehicle inspections, fleet GPS tracking, instant driver feedback, ridership tracking and remote diagnostics systems.
