WASHINGTON, D.C. — City officials say the local school bus system has met all 34 conditions of a strict court order that called for the improvement of bus services, NBC Washington reports.
News that the court supervision was on track to end was reported earlier this year. The supervision was ordered a decade ago as the result of a lawsuit. The district has spent tens of millions of dollars to upgrade buses and improve management, according to NBC Washington.
On Monday, veteran drivers were honored for their years of service that have helped on-time bus arrivals reach 94%.
