Thomas Built Buses will increase production levels and staffing in response to "strong customer interest in the company's C2 school bus products," officials said on Friday.

Planned production and workforce changes were shared with employees at all Thomas Built facilities on Dec. 5. A total of 125 workers will be recalled in early 2012, beginning Jan. 9.

"We are extremely pleased to be in a position to ramp up production and announce these hiring plans," said Kelley Platt, president of Thomas Built Buses. "School districts are looking for quality, reliability and economy, and they're finding Thomas Built buses offer the best value available in the market."
