LEXINGTON, Mass. — KODA Enterprises Group has acquired American Cooling Technology Inc. (ACT), which manufactures air-conditioning systems for buses and other specialty vehicles.

Lexington-based KODA also owns ProAir LLC, another supplier in the bus and specialty-vehicle markets that manufacturers air-conditioning, heating and defrost systems.

James Schreiber and J. R. Lucas, the former owners of ACT, and all of the ACT employees will join the KODA team. The ACT facility in York, Pa., will remain its primary office and manufacturing site.

"Teaming with KODA will allow ACT to continue and improve upon its leadership position in our markets," Lucas said. "Both James and I are excited and look forward to our new roles with KODA.”

While ACT and ProAir will remain separate entities, company officials said that there will be synergies in combining forces.

“We have watched and admired ACT in our markets, and I feel that this combination will strongly benefit both companies and will be great for our combined customers,” ProAir President Dennis Mitchell said.
