HENDERSON, Ky. — Heavy rain here on Monday affected the transportation of Henderson County Schools students.
Keegan O'Daniel, the district’s director of transportation, told the Evansville Courier & Press that in the morning, when students were starting to be picked up and dropped off at school, roughly 20 to 25 roads were affected by flash flooding.
Moreover, widespread flooding shut down around 90 roads in the county.
O’Daniel told the newspaper that the district’s transportation department was monitoring every road that it was aware of with flooding issues.
He also said that parents were assisting the department by transporting their children to higher ground so that they could be picked up by school buses.
