HUDSONVILLE, Mich. — Safety lighting solutions provider SoundOff Signal recently announced the retirement of CEO George Boerigter. He has relinquished day-to-day activities with the company but will remain chairman.

In 1992, Boerigter bought controlling interest in SoundOff Signal and became chairman and CEO. In a press release, the company attributed its growth over the years to Boerigter's "visionary approach to the warning light industry."

Prior to joining SoundOff Signal, Boerigter held senior leadership roles at such companies as HarperCollins Publishers and Herman Miller Inc.

In 2006, he was named West Michigan Trader of the Year.

With Boerigter's retirement, Mark Litke became president and CEO of SoundOff Signal. Litke had served as president and chief operating officer of the company since 2007. He also served as vice president of engineering from 2002 to 2004.
