ALBANY, N.Y. — The National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) has expanded its professional development program for pupil transportation administrators and other industry professionals by adding a Coordinator of Professional Development position to its Albany office.

The core objectives of the position are to coordinate NAPT professional growth programs that are currently offered at national, state and local pupil transportation conferences; engage both internal and external resources to develop new programs that have high value to the industry in general, and NAPT members in particular; expand the program’s reach with innovative distance learning formats; and develop the concurrent growth of its Professional Development Series’ (PDS) integrated Professional Certification Program.

Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Overseeing the ongoing delivery of existing PDS coursework, including logistics.
  • Managing the revenue and expenses associated with the PDS program.
  • Develop the depth of the faculty pool capable of delivering core content.
  • Coordinating input from subject matter experts and collaborating with instructional designers to develop new and refine existing coursework, including course outlines, presentations, instructor notes and supporting materials.
  • Establishing product plans and overseeing project activities for new product launches and existing product updates.
  • Overseeing the implementation of innovative learning management systems and delivery methods, including Web seminars and podcasts.
  • Establishing evaluation measures and metrics for product lines.
  • Assess outcomes and measure the effectiveness of delivered programs.
  • Developing the annual educational calendar with the strategic mix of programming appropriate to support the association’s professional development objectives and the needs of the target market.
  • Ensuring that program activities are integrated into NAPT’s marketing and communications process.
  • Working with industry organizations and external stakeholders to expand support for the PDS program.
  • Working with NAPT’s executive director and relevant committees to develop a budget for all programs.
  • Engage in networking, make presentations, and provide information to current and potential stakeholders.
