HUMBLE, Texas — The 2009 Advancing the Choice Conference will be held here on June 24 at the Humble Civic Center, hosted by the Houston-Galveston Area Council and the Clean Cities/Clean Vehicles Program.

Attendees will learn about the latest technologies, fuels, policies and programs related to heavy- and light-duty fleet vehicles through breakout sessions, workshops and case studies discussed during the workshops.

Workshop topics include diesel retrofits and fuel conservation; gaseous fuels; renewable fuels/bio-fuels; and hybrid and electric vehicle technologies. Case studies in powering a school bus with compressed natural gas, retrofitting a school bus fleet, powering a fleet with propane and deploying a plug-in hybrid-electric school bus, among others, will be reviewed during the workshops.

Special guests will include the EPA, Clean Energy, the National Biodiesel Board and the Association for Peak Oil & Natural Gas.

School district representatives receive complimentary registration to the event.
