HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania School Bus Association (PSBA) is reminding motorists that school buses will be on the roads again, transporting approximately 1.5 million Pennsylvania students to and from school each day.

“With the new school year upon us, PSBA would like to remind drivers to stay extra alert for students entering and leaving their buses,” said Blake Krapf, PSBA's president. “Distracted driving is always a concern, so we are asking motorists to keep an extra sharp eye on the road and watch for those flashing lights and extended stop arms.”

“There are over 45,000 licensed school bus drivers in Pennsylvania who are trained and dedicated to getting our children to school each and every day,” added Mike Berk, PSBA’s executive director. “The commitment to safety by these drivers and school bus operators is why school bus transportation continues to be the safest mode of transportation for getting children back and forth to school.”

PSBA is a group of nearly 400 school bus contractors from across the state that have joined to advocate for school bus safety and the school bus contracting industry.
