PLAINVIEW, N.Y. — The WE Transport group of companies continues to grow its middle and upper management teams operating its school bus fleet.

Industry veteran Carmen Tomeo, who has been with the company since 1997, was recently named CEO. Cynthia Reed, who began with the company in 1995, was named chief administrative officer.

Together, Tomeo and Reed have created and strengthened new divisions with a focus on technology. Over the past year, WE Transport’s new mobile technology division completed an upgrade of its radio communications to 100% digital for improved clarity, said Bart Marksohn, president of WE Transport.

Over 70% of WE Transport’s fleet has accident event recorders installed and more than 65% have automated vehicle location, with a goal of 100% for both within three years, Marksohn added. Another critical achievement of the division: creating a new project management position to facilitate the rollout of the contractor’s new customized routing management software in conjunction with Seon.
