SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Leonard Bus Sales has named Charlie Bruce, a former chief operating officer for two school bus contractors, as its new director of business operations.

Bruce will oversee the school bus dealership's human resources department, strategic project management and business development.

“We are pleased to have someone with Charlie’s expertise and reputation joining the Leonard Bus Sales family,” CEO Mike Leonard said. “He understands the school bus industry, and he will help further our commitment to passenger safety and being a trusted adviser to our school transportation partners.”

Bruce has worked in transportation for more than three decades, holding various leadership positions, including chief operating officer for both First Student and Durham School Services.

“My experience in the transportation industry spans 34 years, and over the course of my career I have never witnessed a company more dedicated to student safety and its customers than Leonard Bus Sales,” Bruce said. “It truly is a privilege to be a part of a team that is committed to going above and beyond to provide the best customer support in the industry.”

Bruce has also served on the board of directors for the National School Transportation Association and the New York School Bus Contractors Association. He is based out of Leonard Bus Sales' Saratoga Springs facility and lives with his family in Latham, New York.
