SEATTLE — Student transportation provider First Student has named Bill Noftz area general manager of the company’s Alaska locations.

In this expanded role, Noftz will also continue to be responsible for the overall performance of First Student’s Washington state locations, including financial results, operational performance, safety, fleet and maintenance.

“Bill brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the area that will benefit our employees, school districts and the families we serve,” said Call Hull, senior vice president of the Northwest region for First Student. “I am confident that under Bill’s leadership, our Alaska locations will achieve a new level of success while delivering on our promise of caring for students today, tomorrow, together.”

Noftz joined First Student in January 2014 as location manager for its Tacoma, Washington, location. He subsequently became the company’s area general manager for its Washington state locations.

Noftz has more than 25 years of experience in the school transportation industry. Prior to joining First Student, he was the transportation director for Santa Clara Unified School District and the Silicon Valley Transportation JPA, both in California.
