WARRENVILLE, Ill. — John Elliott Jr. has been named vice president of operations for school bus contracting company National Express.

Elliott previously worked for Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., where he recently spent six years overseeing sales and marketing of PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) resin. Elliott has held numerous leadership roles in the petrochemical industry, where he acquired commercial, purchasing and management experience.

“The diversity and depth of John’s cross-functional experience makes him well positioned to provide operational leadership as we grow our business in North America,” said David Duke, CEO of National Express.

Elliott is the son of industry veteran and former National Express CEO John A. Elliott.

National Express is composed of Durham School Services, Stock Transportation and Petermann Bus, which combined operate more than 21,000 buses and serve 550 school districts in 32 states and four provinces.
