WATERBURY, Conn. — All-Star Transportation has reached an agreement to purchase school bus contractor Worhunsky Corp. of Plymouth, Connecticut.

The deal expands All-Star’s school bus services to the Connecticut communities of Wolcott, Plymouth, Thomaston and Winchester. All-Star already provides service to many schools in surrounding communities.

“The Worhunsky family has been a well-regarded provider of school transportation services in Connecticut since 1951, and we are delighted to be taking over this well-run family business,” said John Dufour, president of All-Star Transportation. “As another family-owned company already providing service to schools in the region, this was a perfect fit for us and the communities we serve.”

Worhunsky employees will join All-Star’s team of more than 800 drivers, monitors, mechanics and managers. Worhunsky Corp. has approximately 115 employees and operates about 120 vehicles. All-Star operates more than 700 vehicles serving 30 Connecticut cities and towns.

All-Star Transportation is owned and operated by the Dufour family, which has been in the school transportation business in Connecticut for nearly 50 years.
