National Express Corp. (NEC) recently honored 15 employees who were certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) as master technicians.
A dinner was held last week celebrating the employees for achieving their certification.
“We are proud to recognize our master technicians who showcase our commitment to safety every day through their work,” said David A. Duke, CEO of NEC. “To demonstrate our commitment to our professional maintenance team, we have created a program that recognizes and rewards our maintenance staff who achieve ASE master technician [certification].”
ASE is an independent, nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying repair and service professionals. Becoming a certified ASE master technician requires months of studying and passing six main parts to the test.
To remain certified, the technicians must take and pass a recertification test every five years.
“We are dedicated to putting the safest vehicles on the road,” Duke said. “When it comes to maintaining our buses and ensuring passenger safety, we go above and beyond state and federal requirements. Our master technicians help us lead the way.”
