This year’s event took place in Tulsa, Okla., on July 21. NSTA’s scholarship is available to the competitors or the children of competitors.

Scholarships of up to $1,000 will be awarded for educational (post-secondary education) or continuing education (training programs) purposes. Officials said multiple scholarships may be awarded.

The driver must be employed for at least one year and still employed at the time of award.

The necessary application form and rules for 2013 are available here.

Complete scholarship applications include an application, essay, driver and applicant resumes, and at least one letter of recommendation.

The deadline to submit applications is Sept. 1, 2013.
