BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Eleven batteries were stolen from First Student school buses that serve Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, Bridgewater Patch reports.

The thefts caused some buses headed to a local high school and middle school to run late in the morning. Superintendent Michael Schilder told the news outlet that the district doubled up runs with the remaining buses for getting students to the schools.

Bridgewater Township Police are investigating the thefts.

Last week, batteries were stolen from 16 Broward County Public Schools buses in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
