WARRENVILLE, Ill. — National Express Corp. has appointed Charlie Bruce chief operating officer, a newly created role in which he will be responsible for overseeing all North American operations. 

Bruce joins National Express Corp., which is the parent company of Durham School Services and Stock Transportation, with a wealth of experience in the student transportation industry, officials said. He most recently served as the chief operating officer for First Student Inc. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president of sales and marketing for First Student.

Bruce also worked in senior roles for Ruan Transportation and Ryder Systems.  

“We are thrilled to welcome Charlie to National Express Corp.,” said David Duke, CEO of the company. “He has the experience and operational expertise to guide and support our local teams in delivering excellent service to our customers — this will be especially critical as we continue on our path of growth across North America.”

Duke also shared his personal respect for Bruce. “I have worked with and known Charlie for many years. He is a proven leader in our industry, and I truly look forward to having him on the team,” he said.
