CHARLESTON, S.C. — Student Transportation of America’s (STA) philanthropic arm is inviting golfers to test their skills alongside the pros at a charity event that will raise money for worthy students.

The STA Education Foundation Pro-Am, to be held Oct. 20 on the Ralston Creek Course at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, is being held in conjunction with the PGA Nationwide Tour Championship. Each participant will play with a Nationwide Tour pro.

Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships to help students attend colleges and universities in areas that the school bus contracting company serves. In past years, the foundation has raised more than $100,000 for that cause.

The STA Education Foundation is offering guests the “Exclusive Foursome Package,” which includes:

  • Four playing spots in the Pro-Am
  • Gift package for each team member featuring Nationwide Tour Championship and Daniel Island merchandise
  • Gourmet breakfast and lunch at the Daniel Island Club
  • Eight invitations to the Pairings Gala and Pro-Am awards party
  • Eight clubhouse passes, 10 weekly grounds passes and 10 daily grounds passes

Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams for holes-in-one, longest drive and closest-to-the-pin.

The Pro-Am team price is $10,000. Checks are made payable to the STA Education Foundation, which is an approved 501(c)(3) charity recognized by the IRS.

Various levels of sponsorships and advertising space are also available to help support the cause.

For more information and to sign up, contact Karin Falkinburg at (732) 280-4200 x11 or kfalkinburg@ridesta.com. Individual Pro-Am spots are available upon request.
