TULSA, Okla. — Bus air-conditioning supplier Spheros North America is set to launch a new installation facility in Tulsa.

Company officials said that the facility will open by the end of the first quarter of 2015.

Carl (Wayne) Chandler has joined Spheros as plant manager of the new Tulsa facility. Chandler has several decades of experience in managing a/c installations for buses, including school buses. For the past 10 years, he worked for an a/c installation facility in Conway, Arkansas, and he has been involved in completing an estimated 23,000 installations in all types of buses throughout his career.

Spheros officials said that the Tulsa facility will enhance the company’s ability to bring new product innovations to the market and its capability to better support the growing a/c needs in the bus industry.

“Spheros North America intends to utilize its expertise to better serve the bus industry with direct manufacturer installation of a/c systems,” CEO Heiko Baufeld said. “We are proud and excited to have Wayne Chandler spearheading this endeavor. We feel Wayne’s proven track record for successful a/c installations and leadership skills will be a benefit in executing Spheros’ vision for this facility.”

Spheros is expected to announce the official opening date of the Tulsa facility in the coming weeks.
