AUBURN, Calif. — InterMotive has developed a pre-trip inspection module that automatically turns on and off all chassis-controlled exterior lights, including brake and reverse lights.

Company officials said that this enables a solo operator to quickly and thoroughly confirm that all lights are working properly before starting a trip.

According to InterMotive, automating the light inspection process for a single individual saves the fleet money by spending less time checking lights while ensuring that every light operation is activated.

The pre-trip inspection module is plug and play to the chassis and customizable to the fleet’s inspection process — the light sequence, how long they are on and how many times the cycle will repeat.

The module has applications for Ford and General Motors chassis.
