FAIR LAWN, N.J. — The local school district and borough have reached a tentative shared service agreement on vehicle maintenance, a move that is anticipated to benefit both entities, the Fair Lawn Patch reports.
Rather than contract with a private garage for school bus maintenance as it has in recent years, Fair Lawn School District is prepared to send its fleet to the borough's garage. The agreement is expected to be formalized by September.
Superintendent Bruce Watson told the Fair Lawn Patch that the borough’s cost quotes are less than the private garages that the district has used in the past. It will keep minor maintenance items, such as oil changes, in house.
